Bulgaria, a member of the European Union (EU) since 2007, follows all EU directives and regulations pertaining to food safety, quality, and standards. The following report updates Attache Report and outlines the applicable legislation regarding U.S. food-product exports s to Bulgaria, particularly those rules that differ from EU legislation. This report should be read in conjunction with the U.S. Mission to the EU’s (USEU) Office of Agricultural Affairs’ Attaché Report Food and Agricultural Import Regulations and Standards for the EU.
