Canada: Food and Agricultural Import Regulations and Standards Country Report
The 2016 changes to nutrition labelling requirements come into force in December 2021, with enforcement discretion extended to December 2023. Delayed enforcement was extended for Safe Food for Canadians Regulations requirements that came into force in July 2020 for the manufactured food sector. USMCA certification of origin requires the certifier (importer, exporter, or producer) to cover nine mandated minimum data elements, replacing the old NAFTA certificate of origin.
