China: China Extends Section 301 Tariff Exclusions on 12 Agricultural Products

On December 22, 2023, the State Council Tariff Commission (SCTC) announced to again extend the Section 301 retaliatory tariff exclusions on 12 agricultural products, including shrimp for cultivation, whey for feed, fishmeal for feed, alfalfa and seven hardwood products through July 31, 2024. The 12 agricultural tariff lines are part of a list of 95 commodities which will have their Section 301 tariff exclusions end on December 31, 2023 (see GAIN report CH2023-0095). In total, China has provided thirteen extensions of tariff exclusion for different lists of commodities with various exclusion periods. The report contains an unofficial translation of the SCTC announcement and a list of agricultural products subject to the tariff exclusion.
