China: China Notifies ASF Outbreak in Guangdong Province

On January 28, 2021, China’s Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs (MARA) notified the U.S. Embassy in Beijing that on January 21, 2021, China detected African Swine Fever (ASF) in live swine transported into Guangdong Province. Guangdong is one of the largest swine production provinces in China. China notified this ASF outbreak to the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) and is continuing to monitor the situation.
