China: China Notifies Draft Maximum Residue Limits for Pesticides

  |   Attaché Report (GAIN)

On September 17, 2020, China notified 1,673 maximum residue limits (MRLs) for 187 pesticides to the World Trade Organization as G/SPS/N/CHN/1172. The MRLs cover a range of horticultural products, oilseeds, and grains. China has not announced a proposed date of entry into force for the MRLs. The proposed MRLs will not enter into force until China revises the current National Food Safety Standard for Maximum Residue Limits in Foods (GB2763-2019), which entered into force on February 15, 2020 (see GAIN report CH2019-0170). Comments can be submitted to China’s SPS Enquiry Point at sps@customs.gov.cn before November 16, 2020. This report contains an unofficial translation of the draft MRLs.
