China: EU and China Finalize Negotiations on Geographical Indications Agreement

On November 6, 2019, China and the European Union (EU) concluded formal negotiations on an EU-China geographical indications (GI) agreement, which will protect 100 Chinese GIs in the European Union and 100 EU GIs in China. The two sides are expected to finalize the agreement before the end of 2020. The timeline, process, and other details about how the agreement will be implemented are not publicly available. This report provides the lists of protected EU and Chinese GIs.
