Dominican Republic: Agricultural Biotechnology Annual
Link to report:
The Dominican Republic continues to be a strong market for U.S. bulk agricultural products (e.g., corn), intermediate goods (e.g., Soybean meal), and high value consumer-oriented products (e.g., processed food products), reaching a total export value of $1.59 billion in 2021. Despite a 2015 law that explicitly states the need for mandatory labeling of genetically-engineered (GE) products, which could potentially affect imports of GE raw materials, the law has yet to advance along the path to implementation and is not expected to do so in the short term.
