Sugar production and exports are projected to increase in marketing year 2017/2018, up from the previous year. Sugar mills are investing more in drip-irrigation systems, water harvesting and better inputs. Some sugar mills are starting to use the Global Positioning System (GPS) for a better use of land. The weather conditions are anticipated to improve production.
