Hong Kong: Reminder on Hong Kong Regulation for Ethylene Oxide Use in Food

  |   Attaché Report (GAIN)   |   HK2024-0050
Due to recent recalls by Hong Kong authorities of food products containing ethylene oxide (ETO), ATO Hong Kong reminds all U.S. exporters that ETO is not permitted in food products for sale in Hong Kong. To avoid unnecessary recalls and rejections of shipments to Hong Kong, U.S. exporters should carefully evaluate their ingredient lists and food processing operations to ensure that ETO is not present in products exported to Hong Kong.
