India: Coffee Semi-annual

  |   Attaché Report (GAIN)

The Indian coffee crop for marketing year (Oct/Sep) 2017/18 is forecast at 5.6 million 60-kg bags owing to an increase in Robusta production due to favorable moisture and weather conditions. Higher Robusta crop estimates coupled with higher global supplies is pushing Robusta prices to their lowest levels. Large carryover stocks supported exports in MY 2016/17, but sluggish global demand and withdrawal of export incentives may limit exports. Overall domestic consumption is forecast flat.
