India: FSSAI Allows Pre-Printed Package Materials for Functional Foods

The Government of India’s (GOI) Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) published directives to allow food business operators (FBOs) to use pre-printed packaging materials for proprietary food products such as health supplements, nutraceuticals, food for special dietary use, food for special medical purpose, specialty food containing plant or botanicals, foods containing probiotics, foods containing prebiotics and novel foods until the new compliance date of June 30, 2018.
