India: India Amasses USD 6.8 Billion Ag and Related Product Trade Surplus

India had a $6.8 billion agricultural and related products (ARP) trade surplus in calendar year 2016 with the world. India was the world’s 14th largest ARP importer and 15th largest ARP exporter in 2016. Total ARP trade (imports and exports) were $48 on a per capita basis – much lower than every country with data available. India had large ARP trade surpluses with the United States, the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), the G-8, the G-33, and many other countries or economic unions.
