India: India Confirms Highly Pathogenic Influenza in Kerala

On January 4, 2021, the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Government of India (GOI) confirmed the occurrence of highly pathogenic influenza (HPAI) virus of serotype H5N8 in several locations in the state of Kerala. Subsequently, on January 9, 2021, the GOI confirmed the same to the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE).
