Israel: U.S. Beef Arrives to the Israeli Market
After two decades of absence, US beef was newly released to the Israeli market on November 29th. Consistent, long-term, efforts by FAS Tel Aviv and Embassy Tel Aviv yielded the removal of sanitary and technical barriers to trade, as well as the successful matching of a US kosher beef exporter and an Israeli importer. The successful first shipment was celebrated by a reception hosted by the US ambassador, which also served as a networking reception for Israeli industry, the US exporter, and government officials. FAS Tel Aviv estimates that US chilled beef exports to Israel could reach $16 million in 2017.
