Mexico: Cotton and Products Update
Link to report:
Cotton consumption in marketing year (MY) 2022/23 is forecast at 2 million bales, slightly lower than previously forecasted, a decrease which is projected to reduce imports of U.S. cotton. MY 2022/23 production is forecast higher than the previous year on expanded planted area, reflecting stronger demand for yarn and fabrics, particularly in the Central America Free Trade Agreement (CAFTA) region, for final product exports to the United States, higher prices during the planting season, and continuing dry weather that favors cotton over other crops.
