At the time this report was written Mexico ranked as the 3rd most important market for U.S. agricultural exports behind Canada and China. In 2015 U.S. exports of agricultural products to Mexico reached US $18.5 billion. This document provides the reader with an overview of major Mexican laws and regulations that norm local agricultural and food products, and that serve as framework for applicable import regulations for agricultural and food products imported into Mexico. This report updates Mexico Food and Agricultural Import Regulations and Standards – Narrative 2015. As an update to the 2015 FAIRS Narrative, regulations mentioned remain the same unless noted otherwise.
