The turnover of the Dutch foodservice market in 2017 was valued at $22.4 billion, up by 4.1 percent. While sales were up in all segments, sales of home delivery saw an exceptional growth rate of 23 percent last year, driven by growing demand for convenience and flexibility. In addition, Dutch consumers want food products that are healthy, authentic and tasty. Foodservice chains from the United States are and continue to be successful on the Dutch market because they have been able to respond to changing consumer needs; more U.S. chains are now opening outlets in the Netherlands.
