New Zealand’s imports of consumer-oriented food products have trended upward over the past several years. Australia is the leading supplier with a 35 percent market share, followed by the United States at 14 percent, and China at 4.6 percent. In 2015, U.S. consumer-oriented food exports reached US$340 million, up from US$193 million in 2010. The top U.S. exports included: food preparations, pet food, almonds, fresh grapes, fresh oranges, walnuts, sauces, and tomato paste.
