Pakistan: Pakistan Bans Imports of Some Agricultural Products

To stem the burgeoning current account deficit and declining foreign exchange reserves, on May 19, 2022, Pakistan banned imports of many categories of agricultural products. Previously implemented non-tariff barriers already restricted importation of many of the products on the banned list; thus, the new measure will only impact a small percentage of U.S. export sales.
