Peru: Exporter Guide

  |   Attaché Report (GAIN)

For over a decade, Peru has been one of the world’s top performing economies, registering sustained high growth accompanied by low inflation. U.S. origin food and agricultural product exports to Peru benefit significantly from the U.S.-Peru Trade Promotion Agreement (PTPA). Demand for U.S. consumer-oriented food is forecast to reach $290 million by year’s end. This will set a record as the highest year in terms of value for this export category since the PTPA’s implementation in 2009. The U.S., with a market share of almost 22 percent, is a top supplier of consumer-oriented food products to Peru.
