Philippines: Grain and Feed Update

  |   Attaché Report (GAIN)

Post concurs with the USDA wheat and corn estimates. Typhoons Sarika (category 4) and Haima (category 5) barreled through the Philippines in succession on October 16-19, 2016. Corn production was unaffected as the main crop had already been harvested in September. For rice, although a comprehensive typhoon damage report is not yet available, production in MY 2016/17 was reduced slightly to reflect losses.
