Poland: Poland Invests in Two Sea Terminals for Agricultural Products
The Polish National Sugar Company S.A. (KSC), a state-owned enterprise (SOE), opened a new port terminal in the Port of Gdansk specifically for sugar exports. The terminal’s capacity is 300,000 metric tons (MT) of sugar per year. KSC is looking to increase Polish sugar exports outside of the European Union (EU) and claims it will increase sugar production to 1.0 million metric tons (MMT) annually to accommodate higher anticipated exports. Additionally another Polish SME is making moves to purchase a grain and oilseed sea terminal in Swinoujscie from Bunge Poland.
