Russia: Eurasian Conformity Mark for Food Products
Technical regulations of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), currently including Russia, Armenia, Belarus, and Kazakhstan, that came into force as of July 1, 2013, contain “Eurasian Conformity” labeling requirements following assessment (confirmation) of conformity [1] for the covered food products. These regulations allowed for a transition period until February 15, 2015, at which point the labeling of the covered food products destined to the EAEU market must include a “Eurasian Conformity” mark. As this transition period expires for all food products, both raw and processed, except for red meats and fish, all such products for Russia, Armenia, Belarus, and Kazakhstan must be labeled with the “Eurasian Conformity” mark as of February 15, 2015. [1] Assessment (confirmation) of conformity in the EAEU should be carried out by legal entities that are registered in accordance with the legislation of the EAEU Member State on its territory, such as importers.
