Russia: Russian Food Ban Extended Until August 2016

On June 24, 2015, President Putin signed decree No. 320 extending Russia’s ban on the import of a variety of agricultural products from the United States, Canada, the European Union, Australia, and Norway until August 6, 2016, and instructed the Government to ensure its implementation. Decree No. 625 of June 25, 2015 was issued short thereafter amending the list of agricultural products to exclude a type of fry trout and spat (young oysters and mussels) but that also tightened the ban on dairy products by specifying that now only specialized lactose-free products for therapeutic and preventive dietary nutrition will be excluded.
