This report updates several sections of the “European Union: Oilseeds and Product Annual” released in April 2021.

Despite the rapidly growing demand for chicken meat in Turkey due to the growing population, in 2022 chicken meat production is forecast to increase only three percent compared to 2021 to 2.23 million metric tons (MMT).

Unfavorable weather conditions with frost and heavy rainstorms during the blossoming and fruit set account for the overall drop in EU stone fruit production in MY 2021/22.

Bulgarian rapeseed production is forecast to rebound in MY 2021/22. As of mid-July, the rapeseed harvest was 46 percent complete with reported yields exceeding earlier estimates and production projected to reach up to 360,000 MT.
