Hospitality and tourism are the fastest growing sectors in the South African economy, offering a wide range of accommodation and attracting a mix of business and holiday travelers. And despite the impact of the recent global economic recession, the total income generated by the South African food and beverage industry increased by 11.5 percent in October 2014 compared with October 2013. South Africa’s world-renowned wines and cuisine draw millions of tourists to the country, and tourism is a major contributor and one of the fastest growing sectors of the South African economy. There were 1,277, 825 million foreign visitors to South Africa in March 2014, an increase of 3.4 percent over March 2013.
