South Africa: Raisin Annual
Post forecasts that raisin production will increase by 6 percent to 70,000 Metric Tons (MT) in the 2018/19 MY, from 66,100 MT in the 2017/18 MY. This is due to the increase in area planted, new orchards in the Namaqualand Region coming into full production, normal weather conditions, availability of irrigation water and the continued trend of seedless wine grapes being diverted for raisin production.
