In response to U.S. exporters’ requests, Post approached the Thai Department of Livestock Development (DLD) to consider waiving specific requirements for the import of meat and meat products used for ship stores. After arduous negotiations, Post persuaded DLD representatives to consider granting waivers for permits currently required for the import of meat and meat products. Thus, DLD officials will consider these waiver requests on a case-by-case basis, which can be requested through the FAS office in the U.S. Embassy with the appropriate documentation.
