Apply Now for FY 2020 USDA International Food Aid Programs

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) will host a public webinar May 26 on fiscal year 2020 funding opportunities under the Food for Progress Program and the McGovern-Dole International Food for Education and Child Nutrition Program. FAS recently published the FY 2020 Notices of Funding Opportunities (NOFOs) for the two programs and the webinar will provide additional information about requirements, technical areas of focus and other issues of interest to potential applicants.

While pre-registration for the webinar is not required, program administrators encourage interested parties to provide their name, organization and contact information via email to PPDED@usda.gov to receive follow-up communications after the webinar. The same email address may be used to submit questions in advance of the webinar, using the subject line “FY20 Food for Progress NOFO” or “FY20 McGovern-Dole NOFO.”

The application deadline for both programs is 5 p.m., EDT, July 14, 2020.

The Food for Progress helps developing countries modernize and strengthen their agricultural sectors, using donated U.S. agricultural commodities to support programs that enhance agricultural productivity and trade. Please note that FAS has modified the list of Food for Progress priority countries and topics originally posted March 18. After reviewing FY 2020 programming priorities and considering challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, FAS removed Nepal from the list of priority countries and added the Dominican Republic. The priority topic for the Dominican Republic will be Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures. 

McGovern-Dole Program

The McGovern-Dole Food for Education and Child Nutrition Program helps support education, child development and food security in low-income, food-deficit countries through school feeding and maternal and child nutrition projects.
