CORRECTION: Private Exporters Report Sales Activity for China, South Korea, Egypt, and Morocco
WASHINGTON, Feb. 17 2012 — FAS Program Announcement FAS-ESR-016-12, issued at 9 a.m. today, which announced export sales of 2,803,000 metric tons of soybeans for delivery to China. Of the total, 2,750,000 tons is for delivery during the 2012/2013 marketing year and 173,000 tons is for delivery during the 2011/2012 marketing year; and
- Export sales of 120,000 metric tons of soft red winter wheat for delivery to unknown destinations during the 2011/2012 marketing year
The corrected announcement should read:
WASHINGTON, Feb. 17, 2012-- Private exporters reported to the U.S. Department of Agriculture the following activity:
- Export sales of 2,923,000 metric tons of soybeans for delivery to China. Of the total, 2,750,000 tons is for delivery during the 2012/2013 marketing year and 173,000 tons is for delivery during the 2011/2012 marketing year; and
- Export sales of 132,000 metric tons of corn for delivery to South Korea during the 2011/2012 marketing year; and
- Export sales of 120,000 metric tons of soft red winter wheat for delivery to Egypt during the 2011/2012 marketing year; and
- Export sales of 20,000 metric tons of soybean oil for delivery to Morocco during the 2011/2012 marketing year.
The marketing year for wheat began June 1; corn and soybeans began Sept. 1; and soybean oil began Oct. 1.
USDA issues both daily and weekly export sales reports to the public. Exporters are required to report to USDA any export sales activity of 100,000 metric tons or more of one commodity, except 20,000 tons for soybean oil, made in one day to one destination, by 3 p.m. Eastern time on the next business day following the sale. Export sales of less than these quantities must be reported to USDA on a weekly basis.
