Information for Hosts
Host institutions include U.S. universities, government research facilities and not-for-profit institutions. Host institutions are responsible for:
- Designating a contact person to coordinate administrative and program arrangements
- Developing the fellowship curriculum
- Matching the Fellow with an appropriate mentor
- Coordinating travel and transportation between home country and host institution
- Providing lodging and reimbursement for local transportation
- Providing meal and living allowances
- Purchasing mandatory emergency health insurance and educating the Fellow regarding coverage
- Communicating with FAS regarding logistical and program details
- Submitting financial and program progress reports to FAS in a timely manner
Mentors are responsible for:
- Working with Fellow prior to arrival to develop work plan, coordinate site visits, and other arrangements
- Providing guidance and training in the Fellow's research and studies
- Planning a follow-up visit to the Fellow's home country within a year
