Egypt - April 2017
USDA’s next Agricultural Trade Mission – to Cairo, Egypt, April 2-6, 2017 – will position U.S. companies to grow their food and agricultural exports to not only Egypt, but to Algeria and Jordan as well. Participants will connect with potential customers and learn first-hand about the local market conditions and business environments, positioning themselves to enter or expand their presence in these key markets.
In 2016, Egypt, Algeria, and Jordan imported nearly $1.4 billion in food and agricultural products from the United States. Egypt was a $807 million market, with top products including corn, soybeans, and beef. Algeria’s imports from the United States totaled $277 million in 2016, led by corn, wheat, and tree nuts (mainly almonds). Jordan’s imports totaled more than $279 million, led by rice, wheat, and tree nuts (primarily almonds).
