Exporters of U.S. bakery ingredients can boost their sales and make new business connections in China during a virtual trade event hosted by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS), January 26-28, 2021.

A Recipe for Success is a multi-day event that will provide U.S. exporters with insight into China’s bakery sector. Representatives from FAS offices across China will offer insights on current market trends and conditions and participating U.S. companies will be able to showcase their products to Chinese buyers and conduct virtual business-to-business meetings.

Products of interest for this event include:

  • dairy (particularly butter and whipping cream)
  • nuts
  • value-added products
  • additives (especially natural products and ingredients to upgrade flavors and textures)
  •  dried fruits
  •  soy ingredients
  • baking solutions

China’s bakery sector is quickly expanding in response rising household incomes and growing consumer demand. Bakeries, both brick-and-mortar and online, are producing a variety of delicious and innovative products, from visually appealing desserts, to fluffy breads, to teas made with milk and fresh fruit. These bakeries also tend to cater to wealthier consumers who appreciate the premium ingredients for which the United States is known. These market trends are increasing demand for imported bakery ingredients and creating new opportunities for U.S. exporters.
