Egypt and Algeria: Recipe for Success
American exporters of food and beverage ingredients and additives are invited to explore opportunities in Egypt and Algeria during an upcoming virtual trade event hosted by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Foreign Agricultural Service. “U.S. Food Ingredients: Recipe for Success” will take place May 25-26, offering attendees an opportunity to meet online with potential buyers from North Africa’s rapidly growing food and beverage processing and manufacturing sectors.
Egypt is the largest consumer market in North Africa and its economy is growing. The country boasts a thriving food and beverage sector as well as a flourishing food service and tourism industry.
In Algeria, imports of processed and consumer-oriented products are increasing and there’s an active food processing sector that relies on imported raw material and ingredients, most notably food and beverage ingredients.
Both Egypt and Algeria also serve as access points to other markets in the North Africa and beyond. The region’s growing demand makes it fertile ground for U.S. exports of food and food ingredients, as well as dairy products, tree nuts, and legumes.
