Tap into new business opportunities during U.S. Sips and Snacks in Sub-Saharan Africa, a virtual trade event hosted by USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) for American exporters of processed products, food ingredients, wine, spirits, and craft beers.

The online event will take place March 23-24, 2021, offering participants an opportunity to learn more about trade and economic conditions in Sub-Saharan Africa and to connect directly with potential buyers from the region via business-to-business meetings arranged by FAS staff.

The targeted markets for this event provide excellent opportunities for U.S. exporters:

  • Nigeria is Africa’s largest economy, with more than 200 million people and a growing middle class.
  • South Africa, Africa’s second-largest economy, is considered the gateway to the continent and is home to seven major grocery retailers that have expanded into other African countries as well.
  • Kenya offers thriving hotel, restaurant, and food processing sectors and a pending free trade agreement with the United States could set the stage for even greater export opportunities.
  • Ghana’s hospitality, tourism, and food service sectors are expanding and the country’s young and growing population has an affinity for U.S. brands and products.
